Ritmai

A food diary you can start without an account

By Remigijus Klimovas · 1 October 2026

Open Ritmai and start logging. There is no sign-up screen, no email to give, no password to invent, and no Sign in with Apple. On iPhone, Ritmai has no accounts at all.

What you do not hand over

Your name, your email address, a phone number or a password. Ritmai needs none of them. With your permission it reads a handful of signals from Apple Health, and your date of birth and sex are not among them.

The one place an email address can appear is a reply address, and only if you choose to add one when you send feedback.

What still reaches a server

A meal estimate needs one. When you send a photo or a description, it goes to Ritmai's analysis service with no account identifier attached, because there is none to attach. The estimate comes back for you to review and correct before you save the meal.

Other things leave the app too. A purchase goes through Apple, and crash reports and usage events are sent so the app can be fixed and improved. The privacy page describes each of them, and where your record is kept.

Paying without an account

Ritmai Plus is bought with your Apple Account, through the App Store, like any other subscription. Nothing about it creates a Ritmai account. If you reinstall, “Restore purchases” in Settings brings the subscription back from Apple.

What it costs you

No account means nothing on our side to recover your record from. If you delete the app or move to a new phone, your history does not follow you through Ritmai, because there is no account for it to follow. Ritmai keeps no backup of its own.

You can erase your record yourself, from Settings, after confirming the deletion. Ritmai on iPhone has no export, so that record is something you keep by keeping the app.

Ritmai is free on the App Store.
